If you have decided that you want to enrich your life with my little stories on a regular basis but are not yet receiving the necessary email notifications when I post regularly, than this quick step-by-step tutorial is for you.
I will start out by saying, it’s not your fault. Like you, I have many times signed up for a subscription, gotten the email confirmation email, clicked on the big colorful button in the email, and off I’m running. Done. Unfortunately there remains one additional step to complete the process (thanks WordPress). I will walk you through the whole process so that in the end you got what you came for.

So, you clicked the cute little “Subscribe” button I built just for you. You were alerted that there will be an email arriving asking you to confirm your email address (clever, and it works). You click on WordPress’s little button inside the email and VOILA!

WAIT! Ugh! Actually no. You almost made it to the finish line. But WordPress doesn’t help out at the last moment, and for that I am not very happy. I have dozens of would-be-subscribers waiting in the breeze unaware that they are not going to get a single email from my posting. Why? WordPress for some unexplainable, languorous reason, decides that new subscriptions to all your subscribed WordPress sites (maybe only mine at this point, but you will find out when you click the link below) should default to OFF, no emails please. Sorry, don’t wait around your mailbox for that highly anticipated letter you been waiting for.
Ok, enough. Let’s get you set up. All you have to do is click on the link below (do yourself a favor and make this a bookmark if you want to and know how to) and you will be brought to your very own WordPress’s Subscription management Page. Here’s the link I’m talking about. https://wordpress.com/subscriptions/sites/ when you click it, you will see a screen like the one below. Look closely at that red arrow in the lower right corner. To turn on the notifications for my stories you have to click there.

This pop-up screen will appear. See below. Set your notifications to your liking. And please, if I can maintain your interest, never-ever, look at the “Unsubscribe” button, unless you absolutely have to.

That’s all there is to it. Thanks again for subscribing. And if you keep reading, I’ll keep writing.
Until we read/write together again,
Michael Hemphill
